Default MP2 file conversion

I have an MP2 formatted file which is 5.5 gb. I need to get this on a
single dvd, could anyone tell me what format this can be converted to, to
get this on a single disk? Is there any special tool necessary?

thank you..

Larry

1) Download the latest DivX codec
2) Get virtual dub, a free, no frills video conversion program.
3) Convert your mp2 to an mp4 DivX encoded AVI
4) Save it.

If it plays in media player, then you can use Windows Media Encoder 9, to
convert into windows media 9 file type. You will have to choose a bitrate
that fits the file into the required space.

Rehan,
When opening the file in WME I get the following error:

"One or more codecs required to open thtis content could not be found"

Where can I get the proper codec?

thx, Larry

As I said before, you should first get it goinf in Media Player i.e. install
appropriate codecs etc.

MP2 is generally a mpeg2 extension. Download and install trial version of
WinDVD and try again.
