Hi.
I have problems making DV-AVI and WMV files. With my old camera I could eassily record my files at 768 x 576. With my new camera I can only choose 720 x 576 which seems to give me the wrong resolution on my film. I can't choose 768 x 576 which is the resolution I always use to record DVD. How can I change to the right resolution? best regards, Mikael |

Hello there,
With the amount of information provided there is no answer !!! What make of camera and model are you using, Is that camera capable of the resolution you require? Have you checked the specifications for the camera? Do you have a manual for the camera? As John says info is a little sparse, but...
DV-AVI is 720x576 and there is nothing you can do about that if you are using a digital camcorder. This size is also right for making dvd's. When making titles/stills etc is is best to use 768x576 because of the way that the still is made in to the dvd, it's 4.3 resolution. So probably all you need to do is make you dvd. 720x576 in DV (Pal) resolution is same as 768x576 in normal computer pixel
resolutions. The reason being the DV (Pal) spec mandates non square aspect ratio for pixel encoding, while the computer screen pixels are always square. If you play your 720x576 movie after capture, it would be displayed as 768x576 in media player. So everything seems OK. Your new camera is more spec compliant. For more details about pixel aspect ratio etc see this: http://www.uwasa.fi/~f76998/video/conversion/ -- --------------------------------------- Rehan (www.rehanx.org) --------------------------------------- "titanicnorden" <titanicnorden@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news 87A599D-5652-4CED-B96E-F58DCF28E38C@microsoft.com...> Hi. > > I have problems making DV-AVI and WMV files. > With my old camera I could eassily record my files at 768 x 576. > > With my new camera I can only choose 720 x 576 which seems to give > me the wrong resolution on my film.
