Hello there,
The MSWMM file is the project file. To create your video you should click FILE > SAVE MOVIE and follow the dialog. Thee are two formats availabl..WMV and the high quality DV-AVI (Which also creates very large files) Best Wishes.....John Kelly www.the-kellys.org www.the-kellys.co.uk "M Beale" <M Beale@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F9079433-85C0-459D-B55A-AE81F67E7BDC@microsoft.com... > Hi i can't save my movie as WMV. i only have the choice of MSWMM and my media > player wont play it. also when i try sending it to my mates they can't open > it either cos it is in the wrong file format. how can i change this? |

Use the Save to My Computer option in the left hand task pane and NOT File,
Save. -- Cari (MS-MVP Windows Client - Printing, Imaging & Hardware) www.coribright.com "M Beale" <M Beale@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F9079433-85C0-459D-B55A-AE81F67E7BDC@microsoft.com... > Hi i can't save my movie as WMV. i only have the choice of MSWMM and my > media > player wont play it. also when i try sending it to my mates they can't > open > it either cos it is in the wrong file format. how can i change this? > |

Hello.
Can you explain why?? As far as I can see they both take you to the identical dialog. Why should the original poster NOT use the standard FILE > SAVE MOVIE option? I must say that its a little confusing John Kelly www.the-kellys.org www.the-kellys.co.uk "Cari (MS MVP)" <Newsgroups1@coribright.com> wrote in message news:e9M2V3jfEHA.2896@TK2MSFTNGP11.phx.gbl... > Use the Save to My Computer option in the left hand task pane and NOT File, > Save. > -- > Cari (MS-MVP Windows Client - Printing, Imaging & Hardware) > www.coribright.com > > "M Beale" <M Beale@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:F9079433-85C0-459D-B55A-AE81F67E7BDC@microsoft.com... > > Hi i can't save my movie as WMV. i only have the choice of MSWMM and my > > media > > player wont play it. also when i try sending it to my mates they can't > > open > > it either cos it is in the wrong file format. how can i change this? > > > > > |

I think what Cari is saying is do not use File > Save, as this will just
save the project files, you need to use save movie as you suggested in your earlier reply. -- Graham Hughes MVP www.simplydv.co.uk www.dvds2treasure.com "John Kelly" <not.released@dot.com> wrote in message news:ubCQOXlfEHA.140@TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl... > Hello. > > Can you explain why?? > > As far as I can see they both take you to the identical dialog. Hello there,
Yes your explanation was my first though until I realised that all of the SAVE commands are qualified as in Save Movie" or Save "Project" and that's why I said it was confusing. -- Best Wishes.....John Kelly www.the-kellys.org www.the-kellys.co.uk --- All material gained from other sources is duly acknowledged.
