I've just got Dazzle Digital Video Creator 150 Hi-speed. It's working fine and importing audio/video from old vhs tapes. I am used to using Windows Movie Maker II to edit the video. I can't get it to capture in WMM. Is there a reason? It's not in my control panel and doesn't seem to be recognized by puter. But, like I said, it's working fine....with Pinnacle 8. WMM is just easier interface than P8. XP pro, sp1 TIA Mark |

Does it have a firewire connection? If so MM would recognise this, it's the
usb that is causing you problems with MM. -- Graham Hughes MVP www.simplydv.co.uk www.dvds2treasure.com "Mousetater" <spamsux@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:10ee6uqgafg9a06@corp.supernews.com... > It's USB 2.0 to mobo, source is a vcr. True true, I forgot that. No it doesn't. It's doin an ok job. This is my
first vhs to dvd endeavour. I have dvi'd tape to dvd with no prob. The resolution on this is not as good, but then again, it's not digital. I did find that I can capture with it and THEN edit the mpeg with WMM. Actually the capture of the Pinnacle is pretty good, cause you can set a time limit. and then it stops capturing when that timer stops. That way you don't have to look at it all. Any other advice on this appreciated. I dont' understand some of the movie formats mpeg1, mpeg1, etc. Here is a link to what I have. Do you have suggestions for another, maybe better one? What kind do you use? http://www.pinnaclesys.com/menusupp...product_id=1426 This one is ok, just want to make ONE good purchase. I can return this one in 14 days if needed. Sorry, one more question: Is there a standard amount of mgbs, or gbs used
for a time allotment? Let say I have a 2.5 hour vhs tape. This is taking nearly 7 GB. If I just drag/drop them over there to burn, It will not fit on one dvd. I can split it. and put on another, but is this a normal amount? TIA Mark "Mousetater" <spamsux@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:10egjur9e69dv63@corp.supernews.com... > True true, I forgot that. I would seriously have a look at the canopus or miglia units, see reviews of
both from this page www.simplydv.com They will take an analogue source and input it via firewire, so it's digital going in. This will result in far better quality, but the downside is far bigger files. Your assunptions are correct, but dv-avi files will be 13gb per hour. You then need a dvd authoring app to make your dvd from the avi file. This will make the mpeg2 file required for the dvd disc. Personally I use a canopus storm 2 pci card which gives me real time editing with premiere as well as all the inputs. -- Graham Hughes MVP www.simplydv.co.uk www.dvds2treasure.com "Mousetater" <spamsux@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:10egke1o848mj8f@corp.supernews.com... > Sorry, one more question: Is there a standard amount of mgbs, or gbs used > for a time allotment?
