Default crashes

Sometimes when i import a video and click on one of the clips, mm2 crashes.
This is the description of the error:
Faulting application moviemk.exe, version 2.0.3312.0, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.1217, fault address 0x00009163.

Any help is appreciated

What type of video is it you are importing when it crashes? Is it always the
same sort of video file?

Video has many types of files. It could be one of the many avi file typs,
dv/divx - it could be an mpeg 1/2/4 - it could be WMV, using codecs from
version9 backwards - it could be MOV and unfortunately theres many more.
If you don't know what sort of file it is, use windows explorer and r/click
on it and see it's file type.
Where do the files come from? a camcorder? internet?

The files come from the internet, using mpeg layer 3, and xvid video compression

Check out www.papajohn.org, as there is some useful info on codecs in there,
as it's the type of file you are trying to edit.
