How much free space do you have, with dv-avi's being about 13gb for an hour,
you need more for the temp files created in the manufatcure process, so if
you are saving back to the hdd, and the video captured was more than hour,
all your work will need about 30gb of space.
Try some more drive maintainance, such as defrag.
How are you showing the video to them, are you making a dvd disc? Are you
exporting it back to tape?

long). I successfully recoreded the first half but the second half just
hangs with about 100 mins still to go (varies between 99-103) and the CPU
usage goes to about 1-2%. I'm confused because the first half is actually a
minute longer than the second. I tried deleting some other files to free up
hard disk space but it has not worked. what can i do? It has taken me
HOURS to do this edit and my parents are expecting to see it tomorrow!

Hello,

If you are using software like Symantec SystemWorks, you have to
remember to empty the protected files and the ordinary recycle bin. The
space is not released until you do this.
