Need more CPU for MM2

I am running an AMD Athlon 1700+, with 1024mb of DDR
SDRAM. I was saving a MM2 project as a movie, and the
700mb file took about 4 hours to encode. During this time
my CPU usage was about 1%. On the "Performance settings"
page the CPU and RAM are set for best performance of
programs. Is there a way that I can make the processor
work harder so that encoding goes quicker?
