I have Windows Movie Maker ver. 5.1, a Dell Demension series 4400 with a Pentium 4 processor@ 1.7 GHz and 20 Gig of available hard drive, and a Sony model DCR-TRV22 Digital Vidio Cam. I am using a USB connection for the camera. My problem is Movie Maker captures the vidio perfectly but captures no sound. I have checked the sound input settings and they are fine. I have also tried capturing with the software supplied with the camera and it captures both the video and sound but is limited to about 10 minutes of capture file. This is unacceptable for home videos of longer duration
Please, can anyone help Thanks George |

I am suprised you are getting that far with a usb connection and MM2. For
best quality audio and video you really need to connect via firewire (ieee1394 or i-link). This will solve your problem. Thank you Graham for your reply. I posted my query before reading other postings. If I had taken the time to do so I would have had my solution without writing to the board. I was in too much of a hurry I guess.
Now I guess it is just a question of getting off my duff and buying a firewire card and cable for my camera. Thanks again, George |

Aren't we all like that
![]() At least it should be sorted and that's what counts.
