I upgraded to MM2 and am not happy. Is there any place I
can still download original moviemaker? I have my XP disk but cant seem to find out how to reinstall just moviemaker. If not, can you tell me why MM2 takes way too long to save the finished project, as opposed to the original version taking just a few minutes for the same project? Now it takes me about 2-3 hoyrs to save a 15 minute movie. |

Check the Problem Solving > Go Back to MM1 page of my website if you want to
go back. Depending on your project complexity and the power of your computer, a couple hours to render a 15 minute video might be normal... as long as it finishes. -- PapaJohn Movie Maker 2: www.papajohn.org PhotoStory 2: www.photostory.papajohn.org .. .. As a big fan of using Windows Media Encoder to do the job instead, I've just picked up an excellent tip I wish I'd known months ago...use the WM8 codec for the video. No difference in rendering quality, but a HUGE increase in speed. And I mean huge. You can still use the WM9 audio codec, but make two profiles identical except use WM9 video in one, and WM8 in the other, then render the same bit of video and you'll see what I mean. (Eg: compressing 4Gb of dv-avi with de-interlace went from 40mins to <10!) It would be interesting to see if using a custom MM2 profile made this way might help with saving probs. Anyone want to try? > PapaJohn > Movie Maker 2: www.papajohn.org > PhotoStory 2: www.photostory.papajohn.org > . > . > "JoeLambo" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:39c401c42a02$a01c58d0$a601280a@phx.gbl... > > I upgraded to MM2 and am not happy.
