I think this may have been asked in the past.
I am trying to do a picture in picture with one movie playing in the top right hand corner of the other, with no fading etc. I have: - used virtualdub to reduce the movie size and cast it with a blue background - used the croma transition (from Papajohn's site and originally from this group?)to make the blue tranparent - this works really well! But the movie plays in the centre of the page. I cant find either an MM transition or a vdub filter that will allow me to move the actual movie to the top right of a screen. I am not competent with either xml or c++ so would not be able to create directx instructions myself. Does anyone know of anything I can use - either freeware or commercial that will do what I want in Windows Movie Maker? TIA Rob |

Rob,
I uses Virtual Dub to do it... see www.papajohn.org - the Do Amazing Things > Part I > Chapter 2 > click on the image for the focus item You can see that the reduced size video in Virtual Dub was in the middle, and how I got it to play along the bottom.... let me know if I can better word the info to help you get it from the middle to where you want it. In reading the page myself, I just wanted to add the note that the movement
of the video from the middle of the screen to the border I wanted it at was by using a Pixelan Pan/Zoom effect, not by using Virtual Dub. Hello Rob,
Why not obtain the free copy of MovieXone and do all that you want simply by drag and drop. Its a lot less hassle and the results are very proffesional (You can also rotate video as if it were a plane surface in three dimensions) -- All the best.....John Kelly The use of some one else's material and giving the impression you have done it is called Plagiarism. Others name it for what it is...THEFT |

Hi there,
Rob or Zulu!!! and anyone else......... The file is uploading to my site as I type. Watching the progress bar its a lot slow!!! so maybe give it 10 - 15 mins from now. You will see a button on the left hand side of the screen marked MovieXone...and get ready for a bit of a learning curve followed by "Wow"...after that I upgraded to MovieDV version 6....and the cost is peanuts compared to its equivelant Adobe package. Best Wishes.....John Kelly www.the-kellys.org+ P.S. better make that 20 - 25mins...its going very slow indeed. |
