On one occasion before, I have saved without problems a
project to computer, CD and back on mini-DV tape. I now have a new project which I saved OK to computer and CD but despite all efforts I cannot save back to Mini DV. I have downloaded WinDV and DVIO but I am unable to convert the project (WMV) to AVI. Get MM2 msg saying, amongst other things, that some source files are missing. I can't understand this as when I check the project there are no red Xs and it plays all OK on preview. When I try to find the project file in My Movies to select it and convert it to AVI with DVIO (or WinDV) it does'nt show up in the list of files although it is there. I'm totally confused. |

If you've already saved it as a high quality WMV file, you could import it
as a single clip and resave it as DV-AVI..... if you get enough quality that way. One possibility is that a transition or effect file is missing.... and the red x is either too hidden to see or it's not presented. This could happen if you used Pixelan add-on effects or transitions and now don't have them installed. In that case, the missing file isn't a source file, but a DLL. Thanks. How do I import it as a single clip. What is
Pixelan? >-----Original Message----- >If you've already saved it as a high quality WMV file, you could import it >as a single clip and resave it as DV-AVI..... if you get enough quality that >way. > >One possibility is that a transition or effect file is missing.... and the >red x is either too hidden to see or it's not presented. You said that you couldn't convert the WMV to AVI.... but you refer to it as
a project. A project file has an MSWMM extension and a movie has a WMV extension. I'm not sure now which of the two you are working with.... could you clarify it? If you don't know Pixelan, then it's probably not one of their special effects or transitions. Success at last. Reimported movie as a new collection,
saved to ".avi" and saved again to DV. Played back successfully on camcorder and TV. All OK and infact playback on TV was smoother than my first video editing attempt, which plays back on TV but with mini audio gaps at thr transition points. My sanity reinstated. Keep up the good work. Many thanks for your helpful advice. >-----Original Message----- >You said that you couldn't convert the WMV to AVI.... but you refer to it as >a project.
