You have to create a video file in the MPEG format so that Nero can create a VCD or SVCD
You can capture your vhs tape using the following softwares
??-movie Maker -?
Adobe Premiere (www.adobe.com
Pinnacle Studio 9 (www.pinnacle.com
Ulead VideoStudio 7 (exist in demo) (www.ulead.com
Etc..

After you've finished editing, you need to Save the File to your PC in the
DV-AVI format. Then you must use third party software such as Sonic MyDVD,
Nero or Roxio to create a VCD.

Hello Friend

Through my experience i did record vhs movies to VCD or DVD using my ATI all in one graphic card. The captured files should be mpg, wmv or avi
will surely worked just follow the instructions. I used Nero Ver 6 or Roxio Easy CD_DVD Creation Ver 6 to burn to VCD/DVD. I'm using Pentium 4,
CPu 2.4Ghz, Ram 768MB & 160GB HardDrive. Email me if you want me to show you step by step procedure

Hello,
I recently had the same trouble with MM2 and Nero. I was
puzzled at the 'Add Video' dialog box when there was no
option for my WMV file saved in MM2 (even with the All
Supported Files option). Just type in *.WMV or the exact
file name and your MM2 video will pop up and Nero will burn
it without any trouble.
Good Luck

You need an analog capture device such as a Dazzle 80... see the analog
capture section of my site for some pointers and comments.
