Default no sound during capture

This is really wierd. I can capture movies on my Canon ZR80 but during the
capture there is no sound. Then when it is done I can play the file and
there is sound. I only lose sound during the capture / preview.

Help

I read somewhere that it can also be attributed to .ax files

Thankyou for your time

Hi there,

Capture of sound from Canon DV cameras is done by firewire and not USB. USB
is for still shots only with Canon. You need to install a firewire card and
cable. My Canon came with these items. If yours did not, or if you are not
happy installing such a card to your computer most good computer stores
will do it for you. Assuming there are no problems installing such a card
it will take no more than five minutes to put one in.

Travis,

It's normal to not hear sound on your computer during capture.... monitor
the audio with the camcorder and expect it to be there in the captured video
file.
