This is really wierd. I can capture movies on my Canon ZR80 but during the
capture there is no sound. Then when it is done I can play the file and there is sound. I only lose sound during the capture / preview. Help I read somewhere that it can also be attributed to .ax files Thankyou for your time |

Hi there,
Capture of sound from Canon DV cameras is done by firewire and not USB. USB is for still shots only with Canon. You need to install a firewire card and cable. My Canon came with these items. If yours did not, or if you are not happy installing such a card to your computer most good computer stores will do it for you. Assuming there are no problems installing such a card it will take no more than five minutes to put one in. -- Best Wishes.....John Kelly www.the-kellys.org --- And if it should come to pass that our dreams come true, what then of our nightmares? |

Travis,
It's normal to not hear sound on your computer during capture.... monitor the audio with the camcorder and expect it to be there in the captured video file.
