Default Audio pop/hiss

When I make my movie via movie maker and play them back
all is fine sound wise. My problems occur when I convert
the file to avi or mpeg format and then I get a popping
sound similiar to the way an old vinyl record would sound
when recorded to cassette. Any ideas or suggestions as to
what the cause could be and/or any solutions? Thanks in
advance for any help.

Do you get this at straight cuts and other transitions?

I had this problem constantly with MM2, as did many other people, but it
doesn't seem to affect everybody. To my knowledge there is still no
solution.

Out of interest, and I don't think anybody who's experienced the problem has
asked this, do you use NTSC or PAL?

I use NTSC since I wanted to eventually convert this to
play on a DVD player.

I have a good sound card and thoughtthere might be an
issue with latency, but it doesn't appear to be the
problem. Thanks for your help Jake!

Puts paid to my theory that it may only affect those in PAL regions then.
Oh well!
