My AVI videos will have perfect sound until I drop them in
the storyboard and try to play them. There is either no sound or a metallic piercing sound. I can import a music file, and change the functions to have zero video audio and all music, and that will play fine. But if I want to creat movies that use my video's sound it won't work. Please HELP me ... I have no idea why it is doing this. Thank you in advance. -jt |

If you set it to record in 16-bit (48KHz) sound then you will probably find that your problem is solved. Of course, it won't help with any video/audio that you've already captured. It caught me out with all 6 hours of my honeymoon footage. If the sound quality is an extremely important issue to you then you should consider resampling the audio track from 32KHz to 48KHz using a third party application. I can't make any recommendations unfortunately (I used Adobe Premiere 6.5, which does a good job of resampling the audio, but is at the opposite end of the scale for home movie production to WMM2). Thank you Jake. Unfortunately for me I am using the canon
A80 camera and it only captures video in one format 12 bit and I can't change it. How would I go about "resampling the audio track from 32KHz to 48KHz" Is there software online or would I have to purchase it? Otherwise I guess I can look into other software products that don't have this glitch. Anyone know a good basic program like Movie Maker? Thanks. >-----Original Message----- >"jt" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >news:d09201c3ef13$55561db0$a001280a@phx.gbl... >> My AVI videos will have perfect sound until I drop them in >> the storyboard and try to play them. That's a shame - obviously it means that you're always going to have this problem. > How would I go about "resampling the audio track from > 32KHz to 48KHz" Is there software online or would I have > to purchase it? As I said before I can't make any recommendations for resampling audio as I have no experience of it outside of Premiere. I once downloaded a freebie from Avid (http://www.avid.com/freeDV/index.asp) but never actually used it, so I can't comment on it. I just happen to know that you don't have to pay for it! I would imagine that several other posters here will be able to help you better than I can in this respect. Best of luck, Jake > >-----Original Message----- > >"jt" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in > message > >news:d09201c3ef13$55561db0$a001280a@phx.gbl... > >> My AVI videos will have perfect sound until I drop them > in > >> the storyboard and try to play them.
