Default Capture with WMM

I've had little success capturing and rendering mpeg files with Vegas
Video, so I thought I'd give Windows Movie Maker a try.

I'm playing back from a VCR, via a Sony camcorder, to give a firewire
signal. I can see the output of the VCR in the WMM preview, but it won't
let me record because "there isn't a tape in the device". If I put a
tape in the camcorder, the blasted thing plays it!

How do I turn off the control of the camcorder?

Microsoft released a utility to help with pass-through. See the Problem
Solving > Checklist page of www.papajohn.org

The 3rd paragraph in the '..... Limitations' section has a link to the
utility. Most who use it report great results.

Good luck,

PapaJohn
