Default Intel CS 431 pro webcam and DPVsetup.exe

I have installed an Intel CS 431 web cam on my XP pro, and
since installing I have not been able to record audio.
The video records and works great, but the audio is not
working.

When I test the hardware, all voice recording settings
under sound and audio devices in control panel are set for
voice recording with the Intel camera.

When I test the hardware I get DpvSetup.exe cannot be found.
The error code I receive is 0x800004005. I have tried to
use the add & remove programs to install the file, however
it is a .pf file and will not recognize.

I have also searched the knowledge base and there is no
information on such an error.

Does anyone know what that error code means and how do I
fix it?

There is another KB article regarding this, and it had to
do something with editing the registry. i tried
everything with the registry except i get the same error
no matter what.

this is very frustrating.
