Saving my Movie

Hi. I was hoping someone could help me asap. I finished a Movie Ive been working on for months a few days ago and I have been trying to save it onto either My Computer or onto a recordable disc. However while my movie is saving it gets stuck at 35% completed for many hours and doesnt move. The estimated time remaing does move but its increasing instead of decreasing. So each time Ive had to cancel the save because Im afraid theres something wrong. Please help. Im supposed to be showing this movie off at a family gathering very soon. Thank you.
