Default Win movie maker + sonic dvd creator ver 4.5

Can anyone help !!!! I am having problems capturing more than five frames ? 25 min worth of video files in any format.DVD,VCD. The programs give error message ... Win movie maker or sonic my dvd, has encountered a problem and is going to close etc.... and would i like to send an error report !!!!!!!!!! . After many reports sent and at least 3 installations , the problem persists . I continue to be plagued by this error report even though my computer is 2.8ghz pentium 4 with lots of space on drive aprox 30 gig and 500 ram. Have tried editing in small parts with no luck

You probably got MyDVD 4.5 with a Adaptec video card? right. I had trouble with capacity after a few weeks as well. I ended up buying Norton System works and running win doctor. It found over 400 errors, and once they were fixed, I was fine. Also, if you have a home computer designed for home use, many of them have a 670MB limit on the amount of virtual memory you can hold, (the high end machines can hold 4GB or more) . This will only allow you to work with only 15 to 20 minutes of video at a time. You have to go into the styles editor and check the feature that links the segments together. You must produec each 20 minute segment seperately, then linlk them to get longer than a 20 min movie. You might check your hard drive to make sure you have enough memory available. If not get rid of your unused files, save onto CDR if they are important. Also check your temporary files folder and clear it out. Also empty your trash regularly. The video you are likely saving uses about 450MB for every 10 minutes running, so make sure you have enough capability in your RAM and virtual memory to hold it.

P.S. Don't get discouraged, it does work. I got a 70 minute video onto DVD by linking segments. When you play the video, it is seamless even though the video is done in segments. anything longer than 10 minutes takes a long time to encode anyway. And the size of the file gets a bit unruly to work with. I am sure that you will eventually figure it out. Sometimes you just gotta work with it a while.
