Default video device not detected

I am trying to capture video onto windows movie maker
using my new Sony PCV-RS430G computer but I get the
message" A video device was not detected. Verify that a
device is turned on...

Can anyone help???

Please???

I have disabled IEEE 1394 host controller as some have
suggested with no change.

Chris, I have a Sony RS430G and use Giga Pocket to
capture my analog video to the computer. The files are
stored in the Giga Pocket Explorer as video capsules, and
can be exported to Windows Movie Maker in MPEG 1, MPEG 2,
or avi format. If you are connecting a VCR, click on
functions in the Giga Pocket window, select Display
external input, and choose either Video 1 (rear) or Video
2 (front) depending where you choose to plug in the audio
& video cables. Hope this helps, PP
