Default Possible to save a trimmed clip?

Is it possible to save a clip after it has been edited. I
want to be able to save the new smaller clip to be used
again in another movie. Currently MM@ seems to keep all
the information which I already have in the original
capture. Ideally, I would like to make smaller edited
clips and save them in a collection.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, as long as you edit the clip from the collections (not from your movie
timeline).

Select a clip in the collection, and use the preview viewer to split the
clip into sections. New "split-clips" will appear in the collection window
each time you click on the split button. You can then (optionally) delete
all of the unwanted clips from your collection.

Note that this does not alter the original video clip's source file. Only
the start/end points of the split-clips in the collection are modified.

and if you have done what Bob suggests and want to save that split clip as a
file, you need to drag it to the timeline and go to File | Save Video
File...
