That was the error MM2 gave me when trying to import the file.
So what if it is not indexed. Why it cannot make an index? What can I do now? I want to be able to shrink the file down to streaming 56K, 100K, and 300K |

I think the windows media encoder can index it.

In addition to the pointer from print_maker, see the info about indexing on
the Importing Source Files > Video > WMV page or www.papajohn.org The 10/23/03 post included in the page says that all you need to do is open the file with the File Editor utility and close it... doing it will automatically index the file. No..it wont index it. It keeps giving an error.
It did not even install very well. I had to go to the directory to run the encoder. Thanks for the input. Thank you both
I finally got it. I ran the Media Editor and save it as a WMV file. It let me import it into WMM2 THANKS! PS:
A bit off topic...but I made and ASX link to the file I am editing. outside users cannot acces it. Any reason why? I tried laxing the security on the files. Assuming outside users can access the wmv file directly, but not the asx...
I'd assume it's the setup of the server's streaming software. -- PapaJohn www.papajohn.org "TheWanderer" <nobody@spamcop.net> wrote in message news:cDcJb.32025$DC4.10059@fe2.texas.rr.com... > PS: > > A bit off topic...but I made and ASX link to the file I am editing. > > outside users cannot acces it. > Any reason why? What do you mean by 'outside users'? Other users on your computer or others
reaching into your computer via the internet or a network? -- PapaJohn www.papajohn.org "TheWanderer" <nobody@spamcop.net> wrote in message news:VGvJb.30981$xU1.8054@fe1.texas.rr.com... > Nope...They cannot access either. > > > "PapaJohn" <PapaJohn@CharterMi.net> wrote in message > news:vvar7tguje2111@corp.supernews.com... > > Assuming outside users can access the wmv file directly, but not the > asx... > > I'd assume it's the setup of the server's streaming software. > > -- > > PapaJohn > > www.papajohn.org > > > > > > "TheWanderer" <nobody@spamcop.net> wrote in message > > news:cDcJb.32025$DC4.10059@fe2.texas.rr.com... > > > PS: > > > > > > A bit off topic...but I made and ASX link to the file I am editing. > > > > > > outside users cannot acces it. > > > Any reason why?
