Hi there,
I suppose the first question is, Can you record or even hear through your computers speakers anything you say into the telephone handset? -- Best Wishes.....John Kelly www.the-kellys.org --- In Xanadu did Kubla Khan a stately pleasure-dome decree : Where Alph, the sacred river, ran Through caverns measureless to man Down to a sunless sea. |

thanks for replying,
i don't get any audio from the phone through the speakers. if it makes any difference, the default audio device is "Avance AC97 Audio". i've opened the sounds and audio devices properties window, opened the recording control window, checked the phone line box, and pulled up it's volume. nothing. and, there is no problem getting sound through the line in. maybe, the modem is the problem? >-----Original Message----- >Hi there, > > I suppose the first question is, Can you record or even hear through your > computers speakers anything you say into the telephone handset? > >-- >Best Wishes.....John Kelly >www.the-kellys.org >--- >In Xanadu did Kubla Khan a stately pleasure-dome decree : Where Alph, the >sacred river, ran Through caverns measureless to man Down to a sunless sea. >. > |

Hi there,
I am still confused over your setup. The Telephone Handset, what is that connected too, is it your line In? If so, then the modem would have no part to play. I think the penny just dropped. You have a modem that handles voice, Yes ?? To get voice from the modem, the modem has to be activated...in this case the activation is "Line Open" as in inbound call has been accepted OR your modem has performed the "Handset Lifted" or "Off Hook" command. Once one of those conditions apply sound will be available from the phone line. Lifting a physical handset off the cradle will not work. If I am right with the above, I can tell you that you are wasting your time...go buy a microphone, and Movie Maker has no control structure that would activate it when an inbound call occurs, in addition the sampling rate for audio down a phone line is a little like waiting for paint to dry. Again, if I am right, the type of sound card (your's sounds like an "on-board" card) is irrelevant. Perhaps if you describe what you want the end result to be, we may be able to help a little more. -- Best Wishes.....John Kelly www.the-kellys.org --- In Xanadu did Kubla Khan a stately pleasure-dome decree : Where Alph, the sacred river, ran Through caverns measureless to man Down to a sunless sea. |
