Hi there, Ken and PapaJohn,
I have, for myself at least, solved the issue of having text with a transparent background or any other type of image on top of a movie. The text can change colour, rotate through all three axis and of course scale or deform itself and for images the rotate, scale, deform and move around options work totally brilliantly. There is no pre-processing or special consideration to take and there are no ugly edges around the object that you want to have a transparent background. It may be my lack of knowledge, I have had problems getting it to save in a 16:9 format...so MM2 comes in handy there. The program is by AIST and is called MovieXone, the copy I have is the one they give away, and although it is short on some of the transitions that MM2 has it is unrestricted. The website (which for some reason I can not get onto today) is www.aist.com. If anyone cannot get the program, I can always email it to them. I have just done a very fast edit of a previous video clip (Fun +) and I am updating the result as I type...again to the Fun + tab of the video section -- Best Regards.....John Kelly www.the-kellys.org ---- Who the, What the !!! Thanks John,
I have MovieXone in my toolbox. It's a nice piece of software, but I seldom use it. Maybe because I use Premiere when I want to do something that I can't do in MM2. -- PapaJohn www.papajohn.org "John Kelly" <dead_letters@the-kellys.org> wrote in message news:%23vNLjcVqDHA.644@TK2MSFTNGP11.phx.gbl... > Hi there, Ken and PapaJohn, > > I have, for myself at least, solved the issue of having text with a > transparent background or any other type of image on top of a movie. Hi there,
I'm sure Premiere is a nice piece of kit. But for a free piece of software Version 4 of MovieXone is quite something. In fact I am thinking of buying their package its two levels up from MovieXone, Movie DV I think its called and for around US $40 is very good value indeed. I hate the interface, but at least I now understand how to use it...it took some time , and if it had not been for the search for transparent backgrounds I would not have bothered with it....just goes to show that first impressions are not always correct. -- Best Wishes.....John Kelly www.the-kellys.org --- In Xanadu did Kubla Khan a stately pleasure-dome decree : Where Alph, the sacred river, ran Through caverns measureless to man Down to a sunless sea. |

John,
Thanks for the advice. Do you use moviexone to apply a transparency overlay, or simply to design a clip with a transparent background which you import into mm2? I have tried to download the software with no luck. It looks like they have a new version (moviexone plus) which they are charging for. I could not find a link to the free version. It sounds like a tool I would be interested in. If you know the direct link to the download page, please let me know. Thanks for the update! Hi there,
using MovieXone you can apply text of any font/size/colour/position in a 3D space and move and or change its colour in time. I have so far only done it as an exercise. But if you wanted to predominantly use MM2 (I would, its much easier to use than MovieXone) you do the obvious and import the section to be worked on and then send it back to MM2. The download page seems to have gone walkabout. I can email it too you if you wish. It is a little over 26MB so you will need to make sure that your email account will be able to accept that size of file. You will also have to tell me whether you want to have the message broken up into smaller units and a start time for me to send it, if your email account requires something smaller. -- Best Wishes.....John Kelly www.the-kellys.org --- In Xanadu did Kubla Khan a stately pleasure-dome decree : Where Alph, the sacred river, ran Through caverns measureless to man Down to a sunless sea. |

John,
Sadly, my email is limited to a wimpy 2MB. You would have to cut the file into 13 pieces... very unlucky I will look into other options. Thanksagain. The file and web page are uploading right now....my upload speed is rather
