I have a digital camcorder which stores date and time info
on the tape. I can't get those codes to show up when I capture the video. Canon says it's a function of the software not the camcorder. Any suggestions? |

Hi there,
I have a MV500i. The camera will show various time codes in either the viewfinder or the fold out display. When you capture the film, these values will not be displayed on the film. However, if you capture using a program like Movie Maker 2, AND, you have the option to make clips turned on, then what you will end up with is the video information displayed in an index. The start and stop times together with the duration. You should understand that this does not mean the your video has actually been cut up into smaller pieces. its simply a list from which you can drag and drop sections of your video onto the time line...in other words it gives you the chance to conveniently re-arrange the clips or even miss certain clips out all together. -- Best Regards.....John Kelly www.the-kellys.org ---- Who the, What the !!! I understand that.
I would like to be able to see the date on my videos so that 10 years from now when I'm viewing a movie, I'll know when it was shot. Seems like a pretty basic thing to have. My old analog camcorder didn't have any trouble doing this. >-----Original Message----- >Hi there, > > I have a MV500i. The camcorders that I've used have that option - but it's embedded when
taking the video on the camcorder. No, MM2 doesn't do it. You could add a text clip to include the date info on your movie. Hi there,
I too have often wished MM2 would do that simple thing...but thats life, What I do nowadays is to create an opening shot with a piece of software meant for web animation...its called Swish...I can't remember off hand what it cost...its not expensive. More recently I discovered a free program called MovieXone Version 4. It has some very clever features and putting text anywhere you like, move it around change colour and so on is about the simplest thing it does. Version 4 is free...I dont have the url at hand where it can be downloaded from, if you are at all interested I will dig it out. -- Best Wishes.....John Kelly www.the-kellys.org --- In Xanadu did Kubla Khan a stately pleasure-dome decree : Where Alph, the sacred river, ran Through caverns measureless to man Down to a sunless sea. |
