Movie maker 2 shuts down when clicking on any special effects.

For some reason movie maker shuts down when clicking on
any special effects, that is when I have a video or photo
and I try to drag a special effect onto that clip or photo
movie maker shuts down completely. Is there a way to
repair movie maker or remove and reinstall.....Help.
