Movie Maker crashes

Movie Maker 2 just closes each time I click on a
transition or video effect to add to my slideshow...the
program simply closes!!

I have the latest driver for my NVIDIA video card so that
shouldn't be the issue, and I can't find anything in the
knowledge base about it. Why would the program simply
close when I try to view or add a transition or video
effect, and how do I fix it.
