Default Network Server Monitoring using ActivXperts Network Monitor

I tested ActivXperts Network Monitor on a Compaq Proliant 5500 server with 512MB of RAM, with Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
I first read about ActivXperts Network Monitor in an article in a computer magazine, where the scripting possibilities were explained in full detail. And the scripting options I was particularly interested in.
The software has quite a lot of checks built-in, but I was particularly interested in how to extend the rules with my own scripts.
I'm an experienced vbscript programmer. It was quite easy for me to build new checking rules. I tested simple scripts, and also complex scripts using WMI objects. The software processes these scripts well, with a good performance. Also, I get good notifications upon error.
Nice user interface, with an Explorer look-and-feel interface. Multiple user interface programs can be run at the same time, connecting to a central Windows Service. As written in the manual, the service is multithreaded, which you really can see because multiple checks are done simultaneously.
Good product, I recommend although I'm not really into this stuff. Check their website (http://www.activxperts.com) to get a time limited version.
