Just finished installing SP2 in WinXP and Messenger has re-appeared.
(I had got rid of it a year ago) Zone alarm records an attempt to connect to "crl.verisign.com" at boot up. Is this part of Messenger ? How can I get rid of the SP2 Messenger all together? TIA |

Greetings Sunny,
No, this isn't part of Windows Messenger. To kill it again, close down Messenger if it's running (right click the messenger icon in the notification area/system tray and click close). Then click the start button, then click Run and type in (copy-paste if you like): RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove Then click OK. Messenger will then be uninstalled.
