I don't see any other post from you on this newsgroup so maybe Jonathan does
not see it either. Remember also that he, like the rest of us, is a volunteer and we usually only answer posts that describe problems that we know we can help. I suggest that you repost your original post under this thread or tell us the date and time of its posting that you see displayed in this newsgroup. Actually, you will see my post on Sept 19 @ 6:57 pm under
this name...but here it is re-posted- I really need help if anyone has a few moments, I would appreciate it... HELP! I have been through Microsoft, my ISP and HP and no one will help me....I have Messenger 6.2 installed, using correct sign on and password, will not connect and then disables my internet connectivity. Have to disconnect and reconnect modem...DSL...settings for Messenger are "detect settings automatically"...I have no firewall...Windows xP...had a bad trojan several months ago, wiped out many startup ites, all I have from the original 6 are PCH button...can not go back to a restore point when MSN Messenger worked (also same prob with Windows Messanger)...no prob with AOL or Yahoo IM. I amthinking I may be missing a file that got wiped out, I used Hijack this at the time and deleted a lot just to get Trend Micro (Housecall) to be able to load...any ideas? >-----Original Message----- >I don't see any other post from you on this newsgroup so maybe Jonathan does >not see it either. >Remember also that he, like the rest of us, is a volunteer and we usually >only answer posts that describe problems that we know we can help. >I suggest that you repost your original post under this thread or tell us >the date and time of its posting that you see displayed in this newsgroup. > >"rslepre@bellsouth.net" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in >message news:044101c4a036$47ec6790$a401280a@phx.gbl... >> Why won't you reply to my post requesting assistance with >> MSN messenger? Your post on Sept 19th at 6.57 says it is from "Rick" not from
rslepre@bellsouth.net You might trying to do a XP repair using your XP CD since yes it appears that a file got deleted or corrupted. Also you might look at the event log to see if it indicates anything at the time the problem occured. <rslepre@bellsouth.net> wrote in message news:43f201c4a04a$a5696b70$a301280a@phx.gbl... > Actually, you will see my post on Sept 19 @ 6:57 pm under > this name...but here it is re-posted- I really need help > if anyone has a few moments, I would appreciate it... > > HELP! It may be called a reinstallation disk or something. Also it may be
preinstalled on your hard drive. If your manual doesn't no say how to run a the XP repair process contact HP or maybe somebody else on this forum knows how. <rslepre@bellsouth.net> wrote in message news:1df901c4a105$c4f02f40$a601280a@phx.gbl... > No XP repair disk was provided when I bought my HP > Pavillion.... >>-----Original Message----- >>Your post on Sept 19th at 6.57 says it is from "Rick" > not from >>rslepre@bellsouth.net >>You might trying to do a XP repair using your XP CD > since yes it appears >>that a file got deleted or corrupted. >>Also you might look at the event log to see if it > indicates anything at the >>time the problem occured. >> >><rslepre@bellsouth.net> wrote in message >>news:43f201c4a04a$a5696b70$a301280a@phx.gbl... >>> Actually, you will see my post on Sept 19 @ 6:57 pm > under >>> this name...but here it is re-posted- I really need > help >>> if anyone has a few moments, I would appreciate it... >>> >>> HELP!
