messenger error

every 30 secs a message pops up to say that, the messenger has encounted a problem and needs to close, then it asks me whether or not i want to send a report, which i have, and yet it still pops up. how do i get rid of it. ihave a problem with the outlook express which occured around the same time, could they be linked up?
