Apologies in advance if this question has been asked. I have searched for
the past hour without finding it. I am US based, using XP home; my daughter is in the UK, using 98 (SE I think). I have NetMeeting links with other UK users (but all are XP users) but am struggling connecting to my daughter on 98. She had NetMeeting set up on her PC for her by an 'expert' and we estbalished an immediate connection while this person was there. When I tried to connect again, two days later, I got a message saying her PC was unable to accept NetMeeting calls. She swears nothing has been changed although she did seem to have a different IP address the second time (but using this still did not enable me to connect). She also 'confessed' to swapping out the camera with a USB printer as she only has one USB socket (and no hub) but swears she simply reinserted the camera connection. I am behind a router on a home network using cable broadband so I only usually connect from my end (without problemns with XP users). She just has a direct cable broadband connection. I've been through all the NetMeeting settings with her and everything seems in order - but I'm no expert. What am I missing and how should I troubleshoot (the MS troubleshooting pages offer no help at all for thsi problem)? Thanks in advance for any help. |
