Default Echo problems

I'm new at this
I have echo problems with microsoft messenger,when having
a audio conference
Microsoft says service pack 1a should fix problem
i already have service pack 1.(which doesn't fix the problem)
They recommend not to install service pack 1a,if i already
have service pack 1...Any Idea's ?

Default Re: Echo problems

Hi Gary,
Echoes are the result of far end feedback. The distant users are probably
using loudspeakers and the sound from the speakers is re-transmitted back to
you via their microphones. Solution is to reduce speaker volume levels and
increase the distance between speakers and mics at far end or use headsets
at the far end.
It is possible that you are causing echoes to the distant end if you are
using speakers and a mic.
