help me with my msn

I have windows xp home edition and the msn messenger that
came along with it. Now I want the msn messenger 6.1 but
it doesn't work. I have installed it but it still doesn't
work. I was told that I have to do something with my
computer in order for it to work. Please I beg someone to
help me!!!!!

What exactly do you mean by it doesn't work? Are you seeing any error messages?

you must first disable the version of msn messenger that came with your x
how = edit the registr
open the registry editor by clicking the start button, followed by "run"i n the blank field type REGEDIT and hit ente
navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\POLICIES\MICROSOF
now create a new key called MESSENGER and within that key, another key by the name of CLIEN
within this create a DWORD key named PREVENTRUN and set it's value to
quit the registry editor and reboot your machine, re-install msn messenger 6.1 , reboot if asked, and it should now wor
