messenger login

It seems everytime I attempt to login to messenger a
window opens that says a newer vesion is available and I
can't log in until I download the newer version. well, I
have downloaded the newer version many times but I still
have the same problem everytime I try to login, how many
times do I have to download the newer version. I t seems
there's a problem in the program somewhere.has anyone else
experienced this problem and how do I correct it. Is there
some way I can uninstall messenger and re-install it.
messenger doesn't show up in the add/remove program window.

It sounds like you might be downloading MSN Messenger when Windows Messenger is what's trying
to login. To resolve this, download the latest Windows Messenger here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/messenger/download.asp

I have the same exact problem and no one seems to have a
solution. If you ever find an answer let me know
