Default Windows Messenger

I use MSN Messenger. But when I sign out of MSN Messenger into Windows
Messenger I get this message.
You have signed in to Messenger on another computer click here to sign in
again. When I do click it it says Signing in to communications failed
because the service is temporarily unavailable Please try later. but if I
just click cancel I am signed in anyway.
I only use the one computer I do not have a network .
I had the bugbear virus that affected windows messenger and had to delete
the file
Can someone please help

Default Re: Windows Messenger

Greetings Joan,

Actually this has nothing to do with a virus. Windows Messenger supports a number of
services -- the main network, which is the .NET Messenger Service, Exchange IM and SIP-based
Communications Services (what you're seeing). The later two are primarily for corporate
networks and can be ignored (especially if you don't know what it is). To solve your
problem, open up the main Messenger window, click the Tools menu in Messenger, then select
Options and then click the Accounts tab.

If you're using Windows Messenger 4.x, click the option button '.NET Passport' under 'Sign in
with this account first'. Then, uncheck the box 'My contacts include users of a
communications service', click OK and then try and sign on again.

If you're using Windows Messenger 5.x, verify that all the options are unchecked except for
the top '.NET Passport Account' option.

If you don't know what version of Windows Messenger you're using, click the Help menu within
Messenger and click About.
