what is difference between webcam vs video conference on MM6.0?

I have webcam running on XP, when I run webcam everything works fine,
but when I also activate audio then the webcam gets stuck (no movement
is transmitted). Will trying video conference be worthwile?

I just want to be able to talk and see the other party on webcam
(moving that is) on MM6.0.
