Greetings Isaac,
Here's some advantages -- built in Exchange support (without downloading a separate Exchange version), new[er] file transfer protocol (including UPnP), and digital ink (TabletPC support). ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Windows MVP, Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "Isaac Amarel" <isa@actcom.co.il> wrote in message news:%23uvqAPMZDHA.440@tk2msftngp13.phx.gbl... > Does anybody knows what are the advantages/disadvantages of Windows > Messenger 5 compared to version 4.7 ? > > -- > Isaac Amarel > isa@actcom.co.il > > |

Is there any way to get the Hotmail support back in Windows Messenger v5.0 -
I'm still using 4.7 and would like to use 5.0 but only if I've got hotmail access. Hi Ian,
No -- Windows Messenger 5 does not support Hotmail support (you'll need to stick with 4.7 or use MSN Messenger 6 instead). ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Windows MVP, Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "Ian" <ian@no.spam.thanks> wrote in message news:%235O48rSZDHA.1832@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... > Is there any way to get the Hotmail support back in Windows Messenger v5.0 - > I'm still using 4.7 and would like to use 5.0 but only if I've got hotmail > access. > > > > "Jonathan Kay [MVP]" <msnewsreplies@jonathankay.com> wrote in message > news:Otg1wiQZDHA.2668@TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl... > > Greetings Isaac, > > > > Here's some advantages -- built in Exchange support (without downloading a > separate Exchange > > version), new[er] file transfer protocol (including UPnP), and digital ink > (TabletPC > > support). > > ____________________________________________ > > Jonathan Kay > > Windows MVP, Messenger > > Associate Expert > > http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ > > Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com > > > > > > "Isaac Amarel" <isa@actcom.co.il> wrote in message > > news:%23uvqAPMZDHA.440@tk2msftngp13.phx.gbl... > > > Does anybody knows what are the advantages/disadvantages of Windows > > > Messenger 5 compared to version 4.7 ? > > > > > > -- > > > Isaac Amarel > > > isa@actcom.co.il > > > > > > > > > > > > |

Hi,
Do you mean remote assistance? If so, it's still an option in Windows Messenger 5. ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Windows MVP, Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "DCH" <turtle@justmail.de> wrote in message news:bhplvj$45p$07$1@news.t-online.com... > I miss remote function in wm5, I still have whiteboard abd app_sharing ... > but no remote... > > In news:Otg1wiQZDHA.2668@TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl, > Jonathan Kay [MVP] <msnewsreplies@jonathankay.com> typed: > > Greetings Isaac, > > > > Here's some advantages -- built in Exchange support (without > > downloading a separate Exchange version), new[er] file transfer > > protocol (including UPnP), and digital ink (TabletPC support). > > ____________________________________________ > > Jonathan Kay > > Windows MVP, Messenger > > Associate Expert > > http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ > > Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com > > > > > > "Isaac Amarel" <isa@actcom.co.il> wrote in message > > news:%23uvqAPMZDHA.440@tk2msftngp13.phx.gbl... > >> Does anybody knows what are the advantages/disadvantages of Windows > >> Messenger 5 compared to version 4.7 ? > >> > >> -- > >> Isaac Amarel > >> isa@actcom.co.il > > |

Hi,
Try this -- assuming the Windows installation is in C:\Windows (if it's not, you'll have to edit the drive letter in the file in Notepad before running), just run this .reg file, reboot and then look again: http://messenger.jonathankay.com/do...eassistance.reg ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Windows MVP, Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "DCH" <turtle@justmail.de> wrote in message news:bhrffd$us9$04$1@news.t-online.com... > Not here, I searched this option ... with no success... > > In news:#HvvY$bZDHA.1832@TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl, > Jonathan Kay [MVP] <msnewsreplies@jonathankay.com> typed: > > Hi, > > > > Do you mean remote assistance? Hi DCH,
I'm not quite sure why you would've lost this registry entries (and especially not the others). ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Windows MVP, Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "DCH" <turtle@justmail.de> wrote in message news:bhtn31$b67$00$1@news.t-online.com... > Thanks Jonathan, worked very well.
