I want to enter a password every time I use Win.
Msgr. I use Win XP and have set WM to not logon automatically when Windows starts and not to login when I connect to the internet. However, I can not get it set up to always ask me for a password. I do not want any automatic login. I have used the methods described in Help (website connected WM help): "...You can do either of the following: If you are not already signed out of Windows Messenger, on the File menu, click Sign Out. In the main window, click To sign in with a different account, click here. In the Sign in to .NET Messenger Service dialog box, clear the Remember my name and password on this computer check box. -or- Go to User Accounts in the Windows XP Control Panel (to open Control Panel, click Start, and then click Control Panel). On the Advanced tab, click Manage Passwords. In Stored User Names and Passwords, click Passport.Net\*, and then click Remove. This does not delete your Passport, but removes its connection with your computer..." The first method just will not work once I log off my machine as a user. It will always start again without asking me for a password prompt. The second method describes the process incorrectly. I have no Advanced tab and further, no "Stored User Names and Passwords". If I can't correct this, I need to know how to completely remove Windows Messenger because, as I said, I do not want any communications programs that start automatically. Thanks for consdering this problem... --John S. |
