I have all the latest updates from microsoft....

more info... When i set up the DV cam with messanger....that is i run
the wizard..I see the picture. But after that when i Try to use it as
web-camera (the picture doesn't appear on the screen)

Hi,

Are you using the 'Webcam' option for the 'Video Conference' option? If you're using the
'Webcam' option, this probably won't work, try clicking the Actions menu, then choosing
'Start Video Conference and use that instead.
