Hi,
Is there a way to develop third-party add-ons for MSN/Windows Messenger? For example, is it possible to add a .NET control to the Messenger interface or perhaps add a new menu? Any help/tutorials would greatly be appreciated especially with .NET development rather than COM add-ons. Thanks, Steve. |

Greetings Steve,
Here are some resources you might find helpful: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/e...enger_entry.asp and MSNFanatic: http://www.msnfanatic.be However, most of it is simply "hacks", WindowsHooks, etc, there is no actual Add-in interface (there is in Windows Messenger 4.x, but it is being removed in Windows Messenger 5 and MSN Messenger does not support it) -- there is however, an API. ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Windows MVP, Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com <-> wrote in message news:%23ZmKidhUDHA.484@TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl... > Hi, > > Is there a way to develop third-party add-ons for MSN/Windows Messenger? > For example, is it possible to add a .NET control to the Messenger interface > or perhaps add a new menu? > > Any help/tutorials would greatly be appreciated especially with .NET > development rather than COM add-ons. > > Thanks, > Steve. > > > |

Also, there is a wonderful program called Messenger Plus. It is an add-on
for, I believe all current versions of MSN/Win Messenger. All my friends use it. It doesn't screw up, and its full of great features. There's no spyware in it. It is freeware. http://www.msgplus.net/ <-> wrote in message news:%23ZmKidhUDHA.484@TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl... > > > |

Patchou really messed up this time and made lots of enemies. Try a real freeware alternative to IM and don't use a program that installs spyware, hijacks your desktop and windows search button and even your IE home page! Rgds Martin |
