Default SYSPREP question -- every other time it's slow -- why?

For those of you who use sysprep.

Every other time I run this on my load machine, it shuts the computer
down in about 2 minutes.

Then the *next* time -- it takes about 30 minutes.

And the cycle goes on-and-on-and-on (2, then 30, then 2, then 30...)

Anybody know how to reduce the "30 minute" sysprep so it always only
takes 2 minutes?

Thanks!

Steve,

when you first ran sysprep to make an image, to strip the computer of its
identifiers, i think all you need to do is select, USE MINI SETUP and RESEAL.

is that what you do? i have been creating ghost images for the police
recently and sysprepping the builds takes less than 2 minutes.
