SP 2 is causing this , Why

Hello ... I have installed Service Pack 2 now for over 2
months and I have notice now my DVD/CD Rewriter doesn't
notice any disc that i try to load , it just show a blank
if i view the drive in windows explorer, What does happen
when it loads any disc is the hour glass comes on for a
quick second or two then nothing... Now this never happen
before until i installed SP2 , So why is SP2 causing
this ? Or better yet is there a fix for it ? Thanks
