Default Re-format/clean install

Have Dell 8100, it has trojan horses NAV can not get off.
Kids put Kazaa on it and have had problems every since. Kazaa is now off
and NAV has cleaned up some, as has Lavasoft Ad-ware. It is still slow and
quirky,
I now want to start over. I bought the dell with ME with the XP upgrade
coupon.
I did upgrade to XP and now want to Upgrade to XPSP2.
After earsing/formating, am I stuck with loading ME, XP, XPSP2; or can I
just go from ME to XPSP2?

Hi

You can upgrade from ME to SP2 if you have a slipstreamed SP2 CD. Have you
got the SP2 CD or the SP2 downloadable file?

You can go directly to XP then SP2. Because the XP is an upgrade just have
the ME CD ready because you will be asked for a previous edition that will
authorize an upgrade.

Bandusps
you have the XP CD it will install directly if you boot to CD and then
install seeing you have a previous legal ME CD when it looks for the previous
install all you need to do is pop in the ME CD at that time & remove it
replace the XP CD. This i was told by MicroSofts own support team on a
different call. No need to go thru the total upgrade from installing ME &
then upgrading to XP its only looking for a previous legal OS.
