I looked through the posts on replacing an XP CD and they all point to
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=326246 . If you go there they send you to the general Contact/Support page and there it tells you that you have to pay $35.00 just to call to get the info (that may be that you have to buy a new copy). Am I missing something here or is this how Bill Gates became so rich? |

You take your car into the shop to get a new set of keys made, do they charge you for the new set? And on the site, the only fees mentioned are these: 2 support requests using e-mail, chat, or phone are included at no charge (425) 635-3311 Long Distance charges may apply. All additional support requests are $35.00 US per request or use an existing contract (800) 936-5700 Have you used the two initial support requests? -- <- Shenan -> -- The information is provided "as is", it is suggested you research for yourself before you take any advice - you are the one ultimately responsible for your actions/problems/solutions. Yes I did use the initial to support requests back in 2001 one I installed XP. If I lose or break my keys I go in and they make new. Then they charge me for the keys they do not charge me for calling them to ask where is your store and can I get keys made there. I do not mind paying for a replacement CD but do I have to pay just to call and ask on top of the cost of the CD? > You lose your car keys (or break them off in your car door.) > You take your car into the shop to get a new set of keys made, do they > charge you for the new set? > > And on the site, the only fees mentioned are these: > > 2 support requests using e-mail, chat, or phone are included at > no charge > (425) 635-3311 > Long Distance charges may apply. > > All additional support requests are $35.00 US per request or use > an existing contract > (800) 936-5700 > > > Have you used the two initial support requests? > > -- > <- Shenan -> > -- > The information is provided "as is", it is suggested you research for > yourself before you take any advice - you are the one ultimately > responsible for your actions/problems/solutions. ****Correction**** [support requests back in 2001 one I installed XP.] = support requests back in 2001 when I installed XP. |
