XP Upgrade or New

I am building a new computer and plan to salvage some
parts from the old(disc drive and zip drive)

My old computer operates with ME. Do I get the upgrade
version of XP or a brand new one.

From a price point of view I would prefer the upgrade but
I thought I read once that upgrading from ME can cause
problems. I have original ME discs.

Preference? Things to consider?

If you have original ME CD, you can clean install from the upgrade XP..
booting from the XP upgrade, your computer will ask for a qualifying product
(which you have), and then just proceed to clean install XP..
