Failed Intall of SP2

When I was first offered SP2 by Windows update, I accepted and it installed
fine so far as I could see, by the re-boot afterwards failed on the splash
screen with the ble moving bar. It stopped after I think 5 runs of the bar.

After a clean install I tried again and it still failed. (Good job my data
is on another disk. Oddly I was able to instal the RC2 version some time
before.

Any suggestions?

Thanks very much. Most helpful. I do have a 'Prescott' processor so that has
found the problem.
