Default Activation

Hi All!
I have a client who has 2 machines, 1 legal copy of xp pro
loaded and working on the 1 machine. The client phoned me
and asked if she could buy a second licence for xp pro.
She has loaded a second machine with the first cd and cd
key and now it does not want to activate. (I explained why)

Is there any way of changing the cd key and activating
using the new licence? The first pack was xp pro sp1 and
second licence is xp pro sp2.

I would like to do the activation without reinstalling and
after speaking to an MS support person they informed me
that this can't be done - I am however not that convinced.

Your help is appreciated.

Default Re: Activation

Hi JJ

Thanks for the reply - I would have done that had I failed
to change the CD key.

What I did was: -
Clicked on activate telephonically
Clicked on change cd key
Changed cd key to the new cd key on the sp2 pack
Activated via telephone

I was sooooooo relieved as this saved me about 3 hours of
work reloading all the apps the client had installed and
configured.

Thanks again
