Default Creating Answer file on XP Pro stand alone PC

As I am studying the D/top Tech MS course 070-271 and trying to create an
answer file. Chkd MS site and obtained info etc. where says to copy the XP
deployment tools onto my HD. Says you can double click on setupmgr.exe to
launch application. I have separately downloaded the MS Deployment tools but
still cant get it going.
The XP CD PRO has the Deploy.cab in the Support Tools, but when I double
click it asks me what file do I want to use to open it. Checked contents
under Notepad, where it refers to the to 7 files that it should have... but
where are they located -System cant find the setupmgr.exe anywhere on my PC
(was hoping it could at least show me where it would be located).
My PC is a standalone, but shouldnt I still be able to write an answer file?
I'm lost ... I'd appreciate any help

Kindest regards

Yes you can write the answer file without setupmgr utility provided you know
all the parameters and the appropriate usase settings of it.
I would recommend to extract the content of deploy.cab and then read more
from deploy.chm and ref.chm files. This will give you clear idea about how
to create the required answer file.

Conclusion :- You can write answer file using Notepad and saving it in
appropriate extensions.

All the best.

Thank you Mukesh, I extracted the deploy.cab files into the Support Tools
folder under a new folder I named 'Deploy files'. I have 'searched' all of my
XP drive and CD but can't find the chm files you are referring to. What have
I done? I have installed ALL THE 'Support Tools' from the extracted Deploy
CAB but nothing was found. What now?
