Hi

Try this:

With Internet Explorer open, go to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced - under
Multimedia enable 'Play videos in web pages'.

Sorry - please disregard my last posting. Wrong thread, wrong NG.

Try the following article by Michael Stevens. XP will be reinstalled -
which other OS were you thinking of installing?

"Clean Install Windows XP"

DOS as you remember it is not available in XP. Do you have a Win98 or Me
boot disk? If so, FDisking is the easiest way to wipe your HD and start
over. If you do not have a bootdisk , go to www.bootdisk.com and download a
boot disk to a floppy. Pop the floppy in and reboot and follow the
instructions. If you've not formatted using FDisk before, go here,
http://www.fdisk.com/fdisk/ , for complete instructions. If I may ask, what
is it about XP that you do not like?

HTH,

Curt.

I think that some coming from earlier versions don't like the XP theme.. I
am one of them.. the first change I made was to dump all of the eye candy
stuff.. computers run better without it too..

I didn't like the default XP theme either, and quickly remedied that problem
by applying the classic start menu. But aside from the cosmetics, XP is the
best OS MS has ever had. I would only use the previous Windows OS's as
training tools. But to each their own.

XP's more stable and safer, has more goodies and support for new hardware...
but it's slow on older machines. W2K runs faster on those older ones.

If you turn off all eye candy, XP appears to run much better.. even on older
machines..
